T-Rex Shopping Up A Storm at Pearl of the Orient!

While Daddy T-Rex is at work in France’s City of Light at River Seine, Mommy T-Rex and the girls are busy in the Kong working on their LV handbags collection!

Grrr… DON’T touch my LV!

It’s quite a hassle to buy luxury brands in Paris, you will be asked for your passport details since each customer is only allowed to purchase 2 handbags in the 6 months time-frame. Here in Hong Kong, there is NO limit on the number of bags purchased… waste no time, Girls, let’s shop up a storm!

Look! More bags!

More! More!

This goes to prove that shopping is a cultural experience in Hong Kong. It is not necessary to go all the way to Paris! We get ‘arts’ in the malls here!

But if you still insist on seeing Daddy T-Rex in Paris, there is no stopping you, deets here

    • The limit was imposed to prevent the reselling of the bags in overseas countries where the import duty is very high. So much for HK as ‘shopper’s paradise’, HK is not cheap at all! Shopping on-line is much cheaper. Yes, I heard that there is a place in Milan that sells very cheap designer goods, and it is very in sync with the new season. 🙂

    • Besides Miyoshian at Kenrokuen and Zeniya, we ate at our hotel (Hotel Nikko) and the restaurants in the mall near the train station. There is a really good coffee joint operated by an old couple underneath our hotel, at the exit to the underpass to the train station. I think it is called ‘Kaga’, it is a small shop with a lot of owl figurines. No doubt you will have an awesome time in Kanazawa. Remember to pick up tourist info from the tourist center at the train station – they have newsletters with coupons introducing magnificent eats. Cheers!

  1. No wonder Hong Kong is like the shopping paradise. The no purchase limit will draw so many shopaholics in visiting. So those dinosaur exhibits were inside a shopping mall? I would like to go and check them out. Which mall is it? Are those permanent exhibits?

    • These are LV’s shop windows in Harbour City, TST. They are on 2 separate levels, 1st floors and 2nd floors. I am not sure whether these are permanent, but the LV shop itself is curated like a museum. Do go see when u get to HK (but mind the queue)! 🙂

      • lol inside LV’s shop? are you kidding?
I have never set foot in one of those high-end designer’s shops. haha
I will definitely go and check them out when I do get a chance to visit HK. Thanks for the travel guides.

Do you know where the HK’s snoopy theme park’s at?

haha oh man the queue will be annoying and daunting. But I think that’s iconic of HK, I’ll have to get used to it.

      • Ya, the whole shop is ‘curated’. I’ve not been in the TST branch, but my friend who is an LV fan said that it’s very well done and she loves it.

I dont’ know that there’s a Snoopy themed park in HK, at least that I’ve never heard of it. Maybe you are talking about cafe? There’s a Charlie Brown Cafe.
